EL DORADO, Ark. (AP) - El Dorado firefighters say a woman was found dead in a home on the city's northwest side after a fire.
Fire Chief Chad Mosby told the El Dorado News-Times that the woman was found near the front door of the home after the fire was extinguished about 4 a.m. Saturday.
The woman's name was not released. Mosby said she appeared to be in her early to mid-50s and apparently was overcome by smoke before she could escape the burning home.
Mosby said the fire was in the rear of the house and did not appear suspicious, but a suspected cause of the blaze was not immediately released.
