Complaints lead Benton police to arrest 2 on meth charges

Police on Monday arrested two men on methamphetamine-related charges after residents reported suspicious activity at a Benton home.

After investigating the reports, officers searched the home at 324 S. Second St., north of Edison Avenue, about 8 a.m. Monday, according to a news release. They reportedly found two ounces of meth, in addition to marijuana, drug paraphernalia and a handgun.

Michael Morrison Jr., 37, and Colby Brown, 34, were arrested.

Morrison was charged with delivery of meth; simultaneous possession of drugs and firearms; possession of meth with intent to delver; possession of a firearm by certain persons; maintaining a drug premises and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Brown was charged with maintaining a drug premises and possession and possession of drug paraphernalia.

The two were being held in the Saline County jail Tuesday.
