Driver killed after losing control on Arkansas highway

A man died in a single-vehicle crash near the Arkansas-Oklahoma border in Sebastian County on Wednesday, state police reported.

Johnathan Michael Crafton, 26, was driving a 2008 Volkswagen Rabbit south on Arkansas 253 when he lost control of the vehicle on a curve about 3:55 p.m., according to a state police crash report. The car reportedly went off the roadway and struck a metal culvert. Crafton was killed.

The report lists Pocola, a town in Oklahoma southwest of Fort Smith, as Crafton's former city of residence.

Conditions were clear and dry when the crash occurred, according to state police.
