SHERWOOD, Ark. (KATV) -- The Sherwood Fire Department honored the life of one of their fellow firefighters with a special service Sunday.
Lt. James Adams was shot and killed one year ago while responding to a medical call.
Over the weekend, his department made sure he would be remembered for years to come as they dedicated a fire truck in his name.
"Probably one of the most dedicated firefighters I know," said Jodie Hartman, battalion chief of the Sherwood Fire Department. "Always looking for the next best thing. Always going to classes. Like I said earlier, the guy would take classes four or five or six times, if it did nothing more than help someone else."
Hartman added Adams gave 110 percent dedication to serving his community through firefighting.
