Flash flood warnings issued for parts of Arkansas
LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (AP) -- Flash flood warnings are in effect for parts of Arkansas as heavy rainfall continues to fall throughout the state.
The warning includes the Little Rock area, where 2 to 3 inches of rain fell through 5 a.m. Monday. An additional 2 to 3 inches of rain is possible through Tuesday.
The flash flood warning extends into north-central and northeast Arkansas as well.
The Arkansas Department of Transportation says road closures because of high water have been reported in Independence, Jackson, Randolph and Sharp counties.
Forecasters say the rain should taper off by early Tuesday morning, with another round of showers possible on Thursday.
