Former First Lady Laura Bush is visiting the Natural State on Monday with a trip to Harding University.

She will present at 7:30 p.m. at the Benson Auditorium as part of the Distinguished Lecture Series hosted by the university's American Studies Institute.

Wife of George W. Bush, she was the First Lady of the United States from 2001 to 2009.

Ahead of her visit, the university donated copies of the children's book, "Our Great Big Backyard," written by her and daughter Jenna Bush Hager, to schools and libraries in White County.

“Mrs. Bush’s visit to Harding University on Monday night provides us with a perfect opportunity to thank her for her service as our First Lady and to celebrate causes dear to both her heart and ours: local elementary schools, public libraries, teachers, reading and literacy programs,” said Harding University President Bruce McLarty.
