LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (AP) — President Donald Trump, who publicly encouraged Sarah Sanders to run for governor, wasted no time putting his seal of approval on her bid. The former president on Monday night backed Sanders’ candidacy — his first official, public endorsement since leaving office — and called her a “warrior who will always fight for the people of Arkansas and do what is right, not what is politically correct," reported The Associated Press.
Sanders, daughter of former Gov. Mike Huckabee and the White House Press Secretary under former President Donald Trump, officially announced her run for Arkansas governor in 2022 on Monday. Sanders' campaign video touting her relationship with the former president and vowed to combat the “radical left”.
