Hot Springs police arrest 1 in bank robbery
LITTLE ROCK (KATV) —
Police reported Sunday that a man suspected of robbing a Hot Springs bank had been arrested.
Shawn Sarver, 46, was charged with aggravated robbery.
Sarver is accused of robbing a Bank of Ozarks branch at 1410 Albert Pike Road on Friday. Officers were called to the bank about 3 p.m. after a man had handed a teller a note demanding money, police said in a news release. The teller gave the man an undisclosed amount of money. The man then fled on foot.
Police said they distributed images of the robber taken by bank surveillance cameras. The department received numerous tips that Sarver was the robber, according to the release.
An officer reportedly encountered Sarver about 3:30 p.m. Saturday at Albert Pike Road and McClard Street, about a quarter-mile east of the bank, and arrested him.
Sarver was being held at the Garland County jail Sunday.
