Little Rock police are looking for the suspect or suspects who fired shots that injured an 18-year-old, according to a police report.

Officers went to Baptist Hospital to meet the victim, Derrius Pettis, on Saturday night.

Pettis told police he and his girlfriend left prom and went to a nearby neighborhood to be with others from the event. They were hanging out and talking when shots rang out and Pettis felt his foot "go numb."

He told his girlfriend to call an ambulance and she got him in a vehicle to rush him to the hospital.

Authorities say neither Pettis nor his girlfriend had any suspect or suspect vehicle information.

The Little Rock School District says they had officers at the prom and the shooting did not occur anywhere on the property for the event.

Anyone with information in the case is encouraged to call the Little Rock Police Department.
