LRPD: Victim in overnight apartment shooting dies, suspects remain at large

UPDATE (5:00):

Authorities have confirmed the victim of a shooting at the Big Country Chateau Apartments Wednesday night has died.

LRPD reports Kordell Johnson,19, passed away as a result of his injuries.

Witnesses at the scene told police Johnson and two black males were inside an apartment prior to the shooting and they were all "smoking."

According to the witness, Johnson asked the two subjects to leave and they did.

Minutes later, someone knocked on the door and Johnson was shot several times when he answered it.

Witnesses tell police they did not see who did the shooting.

Little Rock police are investigating a shooting that injured one person.

Lt. Michael Ford with the Little Rock Police Departments tells Channel Seven the shooting happened around 11 p.m. on Wednesday at the Big Country Chateau Apartments at 6200 Colonel Glenn Rd.

Authorities say Kordell Johnson, 19, was found shot and is currently in critical condition.

Police are looking for two black male suspects who are believed to be armed.

More information is expected to be released later today.
