Arkansas State Police are investigating an early Saturday morning fatality accident involving a Maumelle police officer.
According to Maumelle Police Captian Jim Hansard, Officer Christopher Cruse was traveling north on Highway 100 while responding to a call for service when he hit a jeep traveling south in the northbound lanes.
The driver of the jeep was killed and two other people in the jeep were injured. Officer Cruse sustained injuries to both legs.
The Arkansas State Police identify the driver of the Jeep Grand Cherokee as 22-year old Anthony Walker of Maumelle.
The accident happened around 1 a.m. Saturday.
The Arkansas State Police report is in the preliminary stage and they are continuing to investigate.
