Maumelle police arrested three suspects accused of shooting at a witness who followed their getaway van after an armed robbery at a gas station.

Police were called to the robbery at the Shell station on Highway 365 Tuesday afternoon. At the store, authorities spoke with an employee who said a man wearing all black clothing and a mask brandished a gun and told her to empty the cash register into a bag. The employee said the suspect also fired a shot as he left the store.

Another witness who was driving up tot he store as the suspect was leaving said he entered a white van, which fled on Highway 365.

The witness followed the van and said the occupants were shooting at him as they traveled down the highway, according to the police report.

Eventually, the van turned off the highway and onto Ashley Road before he stopped his search and returned to the gas station. Maumelle officers and the Pulaski County Sheriff's Office responded to Ashley Road, where they were able to apprehend the three suspects a short time later.

Inside the vehicle, officers found a pistol with its serial number defaced.

Ryan Dale Frederick, 22, Jonathan Bernard Graydon, 25, and Eric McGail Criswell Jr., 26, were each arrested for aggravated robbery, criminal attempt to commit capital murder, possession of a defaced firearm, theft of property, and unlawful discharge of a firearm from a vehicle.

Police say Frederick faces the additional charge of possession of a firearm by certain persons, and Criswell was also arrested for possession of a firearm by certain persons and a misdemeanor charge of possession of marijuana.

They were each booked into the Pulaski County jail, where they were being held Tuesday without bond.
