The Arkansas Medical Marijuana Commission revealed Tuesday the top cultivation applications that will be granted licenses.

The commission decided to grant those licenses to Natural State Medicinals Cultivation with a score of 486 (Jefferson County); Bold Team LLC with a score of 444 (Woodruff County); Natural State Wellness Enterprises in Jefferson and Jackson counties, which each scored 438 and are owned by identical groups that will have to choose only one of the two applications; Osage Creek Cultivation with a score of 432.5 (Carroll County); and Delta Medical Cannabis Company, Inc. with a score of 432 (Jackson County).

Each company has to pay a $100,000 licensing fee while also posting a $500,000 performance bond. If they fail to do so within seven days, they will be disqualified and the license will go to a runner-up.

The commission said each applicant was given a score, based on a 500-point rubric system, and applicants with the highest scores were the ones granted a license.

According to the commission, 2.5 bonus points were added to applications that showed 51 percent of cultivation ownership was either women, minorities, or veterans.

February 20 marked the deadline for the commission to score the cultivation applicants.
