The Arkansas Medical Marijuana Commission is pushing back its meeting to award 32 dispensary licenses to next year.

The meeting was originally set for Dec. 19 but has been delayed to Jan. 9 to give newly appointed commissioners enough time to review the dispensary scores.

On Monday, it was announced that Benton police Capt. Kevin Russell would replace Dr. Carlos Roman on the five-person commission.

According to the commission, the medical director for the Public Consulting Group, hired to score the dispensary applications, was also not able to attend December's meeting but said he will be able to attend in January.
