A months-long investigation into a sexual assault case in Conway has led to the arrest of a local man accused of trying to pay a driver to perform oral sex on her, a police report states.

Conway police say Matthew Dendy, 36, was booked into the Faulkner County jail for second-degree sexual assault on Wednesday afternoon.

His arrest comes after a female victim contacted Conway police on Sept. 15 in reference to a sexual offense.

According to the police report, the victim said she picked up a man on the UCA campus to drop him off at the Germantown Apartments, but once at the complex, he allegedly harassed her, first by offering $100, $500 and then $1,000 to perform oral sex on her. After refusing his offer, the report states the victim was grabbed inappropriately. The victim then pushed him away, told him to get out of her car and left the scene.

Days later, the victim came to the police department and positively identified Dendy as the suspect who assaulted her, the police report states.

He was arrested at his home with the help of the Eastern Arkansas Fugitive Task Force.
