Pine Bluff police investigating first homicide of the year

LITTLE ROCK (KATV) — The Pine Bluff Police Department is investigating a homicide that has left one man dead.

Authorities said the identity of the victim is known but is being withheld pending the notification of the next of kin.

Officers were called in reference to a shooting at the Regency Arms Apartments at around 10:50 p.m. on Wednesday.

When officers arrived, they found one male victim on the ground with apparent gunshot wounds. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police said the body has been sent to the state crime lab to determine the official cause and manner of death.

This will be the first homicide of 2023 in Pine Bluff, and will also be the first homicide since September 14, 2022.
