Police arrest suspect shot during Hot Springs break-in

A man who was shot during a break-in at a Hot Springs apartment Sunday has been arrested after his release from the hospital.

Hot Springs police said Darryl Lavell Williams, 24, was arrested Thursday on four counts of aggravated assault and one count each of aggravated residential burglary, criminal attempt to commit aggravated robbery and felon in possession of a firearm.

According to officers, Williams is accused of being armed with a gun and breaking into an apartment in the 400 block of Alcorn Street. He was shot once by a resident of the apartment and was taken to the hospital for his injuries, police said.

Williams is being held at the Garland County Detention Center with no bond as he awaits his initial appearance in court.
