Police connect Little Rock brothers to 4th killing
LITTLE ROCK (KATV) —
Two brothers arrested this year in the killing of a Little Rock woman and her two children have been charged in the slaying of a fourth person.
Michael Collins, 25, and William Alexander, 21, were charged with capital murder in a fatal shooting at a Little Rock apartment complex last year. The two are accused of killing Billy Thornton, 64, at Spring Valley Apartments at 8701 Interstate 30 the evening of July 11, 2017. Police were called to a possible suicide at the apartment and found Thornton dead. But officers suspected foul play and turned the case over to homicide detectives.
Police on Thursday declined to release further details on the case. Department spokesman officer Steve Moore said any affidavits filed in the case are expected to be sealed.
Collins and Alexander have been held in the Pulaski County jail for months in the killing of Mariah Cunningham, 24, and her two children, Alayah Fisher, 5, and Elijah Fisher, 3. The family was found slain in their apartment on Dec. 5.
Collins, whom police said knew Cunningham, was arrested days after the killing in Chicago in an unrelated case. He was extradited to Little Rock in March. Little Rock police arrested Alexander in January. The brothers face capital murder counts in that case, as well.
The two remained in the Pulaski County jail Thursday.
