LITTLE ROCK (KATV) — Authorities are investigating after a man admitted to shooting a woman outside a Little Rock apartment early Tuesday morning.
Police say they were called out to the 13500 block of Chenal Parkway just before 6:30 a.m. in reference to a shooting.
When officers arrived on scene, they spoke with a witness who said he and his girlfriend were inside their apartment when they heard several gunshots. When they walked outside, they saw a black male running west from the parking lot.
The witness said a short while later, several females placed the victim, identified as 23-year-old Briana Wilson of Little Rock, in a silver car and drove away.
After police were done talking to the witness, they reported that a black male in a black hoodie began approaching them with his hands raised.
According to the report, the man had called police and said he wished to turn himself in. As he approached the officers on scene, he said, "It was me."
After performing a thorough search for weapons, the suspect, identified as Marcus Johnson, 23, of Pine Bluff, was taken into custody.
The woman who transported Wilson to the hospital told police that Johnson had located the victim using an app. Wilson and Johnson then got into an argument over why she was at the apartment complex. When Johnson began advancing towards Wilson, she peppered sprayed him and Johnson shot her, according to the report.
Neither the victim nor the suspect lived at the apartment complex where the shooting occurred, according to the incident report.
Wilson was taken to Baptist Hospital for not life-threatening injuries to both legs.
Johnson is currently being held at Pulaski County jail for first-degree domestic battery.
