Police name suspect in Jacksonville apartment shooting

Police on Sunday said they were searching for a man in connection with a shooting at a Jacksonville apartment complex.

The department reported that Travis Montgomery, 18, was wanted on charges of first-degree battery and criminal mischief. Montgomery is suspected of shooting a person at Chapel Ridge Apartments at 950 Military Road on Saturday. Police said he was last seen in the area of Woodbriar Drive, just west of the complex.

Department spokesman April Kiser said Sunday afternoon that she did not immediately have further details on the shooting.

Montgomery is described as black, 6-feet-1 and 160 pounds. He is described as armed and dangerous.
