Mother, 2 children fatally shot in eastern Arkansas

FORREST CITY, Ark. (AP/KATV) -- Police say a suspect is in custody in the fatal shooting of a woman and her two children in eastern Arkansas.

Forrest City Police Lt. Eric Varner says the 30-year-old man wanted in the fatal shootings surrendered to police Thursday and is jailed pending formal charges.

Varner says the man is suspected in the Wednesday night shooting deaths of 38-year-old Nashae Williams, 9-year-old Malayya Williams Issah and 6-year-old Zanashia Williams.

Varner says the victims were found in their apartment by officers investigating reports of gunfire and that each victim had been shot several times.
