Little Rock police took a man into custody minutes after a bank robbery thanks to helpful tips from witnesses Thursday.

The police department was called to a robbery at Centennial Bank, located at 718 Broadway, at approximately 3:25 p.m.

Authorities say an older white male, later identified as 56-year-old Owen Hogan, passed a note indicating that he had a weapon, got the money and fled on foot down 8th Street.

Witnesses were able to keep up with Hogan's location and relayed the information to officers. Police took him into custody about two blocks away from the crime scene.

Authorities say they will investigate whether the Hogan is connected to another robbery this month at Bank OZK, where an older white male robbed the bank while wearing a Walmart vest.
