Police: Woman allegedly hit with beer bottle during attempted robbery
LITTLE ROCK (KATV) —
Authorities are investigating after a woman says she was injured in an attempted robbery Thursday evening.
Little Rock police say they found the 57-year-old victim on the front steps of her house bleeding from her right arm.
The victim told officers she was walking in the area near Kroger on Geyer Springs around 9:00 p.m. when a woman attempted to steal her purse. She said the woman was unsuccessful in taking her purse, however, during the altercation the women hit her on the right arm with a beer bottle.
LRPD reports the victim was then given a ride to her home from the Raceway gas station located at 65th and University.
After speaking with police, the victim was taken to UAMS where she was treated for a compound fracture of her right arm. A doctor treating her says her injury is not consistent with being hit by a beer bottle.
According to the report, authorities were unable to locate anything in the area of the incident.
