Possible hepatitis A exposure reported at Jonesboro restaurant
LITTLE ROCK (KATV) —
Arkansas health officials are warning of another possible hepatitis A exposure in northeast Arkansas.
Those who dined at an On the Border restaurant at 2324 Red Wolf Boulevard in Jonesboro could have been exposed to the virus, the state Department of Health said in a news release Wednesday. Anyone who ate at the restaurant between Dec. 13 and Dec. 27 should immediately seek vaccination, the release says.
Vaccines will be available for free on Friday and Saturday at the Craighead County Health Unit in Jonesboro.
Health officials have called the hepatitis A outbreak in northeast Arkansas atypical and unusually severe. The Department of Health has logged 237 cases of the contagious liver disease since February. Two people have died.
