LITTLE ROCK (KATV) — The Pulaski County Election Commission has disqualified at least 4,000 absentee ballots.
Commission officials said Tuesday night that the ballots won't count because they are missing information, such as birth dates and addresses.
The disqualified votes could have a significant impact on Arkansas' tightest congressional race between GOP incumbent U.S. Rep. French Hill and Democratic State Sen. Joyce Elliott for Arkansas' District 2 seat.
The commission said about 200 other ballots are unable to be scanned because they are torn or crumpled. During a meeting streamed on YouTube Tuesday night, officials said they are working to copy information from the unreadable ballots to new ballots that can be scanned.
