After two surgeries and one blood transfusion later, Reese's, the small dog who was shot on Jan. 4 by a former Faulkner County deputy is expected to recover from her injuries, reports KATV partner the Log Cabin Democrat.

The Faulkner County Sheriff's Office received a call about an aggressive dog in the Shiloh Estates subdivision in Conway on Jan. 4 and sent a deputy to the scene.

Video clips showing the former K-9 handler arguing with a homeowner in the subdivision and then shooting the dog, quickly went viral online, reports the Log Cabin Democrat.

Reese's has been at an emergency veterinarian clinic in Little Rock since late Jan. 4 and a Facebook page called "Reese's Road to Recovery" has been created so those in the community and the world can get information daily on how the dog is recovering.

Reese's is expected to make a near-full recovery, according to Arkansas Veterinary Emergency & Specialist center employees, reports the Log Cabin Democrat.
