LITTLE ROCK (KATV) — Ideal Option now welcomes new patients in Russellville, making this location the seventh in Arkansas.
Ideal Option is an outpatient treatment center for those addicted to fentanyl, heroin, methamphetamine, alcohol, and polysubstance.
Polysubstance is now the most common diagnosis at Ideal Option.
Overdoses in Arkansas have continued mainly due to the prevalence of fentanyl in the illicit drug supply.
According to the Pope County Sheriff's Office, in January, there were around 19,500 fentanyl pills seized at a traffic stop within city limits.
"Agents believed at the time of the seizure there was no intent to traffic this drug to other states, but that it would be sold locally in the Pope County area," the release stated.
According to Ideal Options, over half of all Arkansas patients tested positive for more than one substance at enrollment, and 24% tested positive for three or more substances.
For the patients that stayed with Ideal Options during 2022, here is what their testing shows:
"According to the Pope County Opioid Dashboard published by Arkansas Take Back, there are only three medication-assisted treatment providers located here," said Aaron Bunch, community outreach coordinator for Ideal Option. "I am excited for the opportunity to form partnerships in Russellville and make a positive impact by bringing in additional resources to treat the residents of this wonderful community."
The Russellville Ideal Option is open Monday through Thursday from 7:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. and is located at at 902 W Main St, Russellville, AR.
Ideal Option accepts most insurances, including Medicare and Medicaid.
Patients can start treatment for fentanyl, heroin, alcohol, or other substances within one to three business days.
