Saline County residents have been receiving phone calls from people claiming to be deputies of the Saline County Sheriff's Office (SCSO).

According to the SCSO, the callers usually tell the victims that they have warrants for their arrest or owe fines and they must immediately pay the Sheriff's Office by buying a pre-paid debit card to avoid getting arrested.

Saline County Sheriff Rodney Wright states that SCSO deputies will never contact you by telephone to demand payment for any type of fine or to prevent being arrested.

The SCSO Criminal Investigation Division is investigating these calls. If you receive a call such as this scam, do not give out any personal information over the phone.

Report the incident to the SCSO by calling the non-emergency dispatch telephone number 501-303-5647 or contact your local law enforcement agency.
