SCOTUS lifts stay on execution for Ledell Lee

The United States Supreme Court has lifted a stay on the execution for Arkansas death row inmate Ledell Lee.

The Arkansas Department of Corrections has been standing by awaiting a decision from the high court. The ADC says it is prepared to carry out the procedure at this point.

Governor spokesperson J.R. Davis tells KATV they are waiting for paperwork to move forward with the execution.

Lee was sentenced to death in 1995 for after being convicted of killing 26-year-old Debra Reese, beating her with a tire iron and strangling her inside her Jacksonville home.
