BRICKEYS, Ark. (KATV) — Arkansas prison officials say a convicted murderer who escaped from prison in 2009 while wearing a guard uniform has escaped again.
According to the Arkansas Department of Corrections, Calvin Adams, 49, escaped the East Arkansas Regional Unit in Brickeys overnight Monday. Adams was confirmed to be gone after a unit-wide count. No other information about his escape has been released at this time.
On May 29, 2009, Adams and another inmate walked out of the Cummins Unit wearing guard uniforms and drove away in a car that was left for them. They were arrested in New York state four days later.
Adams was convicted of capital murder in 1995 in the kidnapping and shooting death of a man. He is serving a life sentence without parole.
Adams is described as weighing 180 pounds. He has brown eyes and brown hair.
