A Mountain Home man is facing several charges after Baxter County authorities found him living in a house boat that did not belong to him.

On Friday, a deputy was called to the Jordan Marina when the marina manager noticed someone was inside a house boat without the owner's permission.

When the deputy stepped on the house boat, a stereo was playing, lights were on and dirty dishes and open containers were found. In the bedroom, the deputy found 34-year-old Christopher Steven Alsup and a woman asleep on the bed.

After questioning, authorities said Alsup admitted they had been living on the boat for a couple of days.

The marina manager also later found video footage showing Alsup and the woman taking a ski boat from the dock and taking it out on the lake, though it was later returned.

Alsup was taken into custody for residential burglary, theft, criminal mischief and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was given a $25,000 bond and will appear in court later this month.

Authorities say the same charges are anticipated for the woman, although she has not been taken into custody yet.
