The Faulkner County Sheriff's Office has released the cause of death for Elvia Fragstein, who was abducted and killed last month.

Authorities say Fragstein, 71, died of blunt force trauma to the head and cervical spine as well as strangulation.

Fragstein's body was found in Jefferson County on July 11, days after she was reported missing from Faulkner County. Officials believe Fragstein was forcefully taken after exiting a T.J. Maxx at the Conway Commons Shopping Center on July 7.

Sixteen-year-old Robert Lee Smith Jr. and 18-year-old Tacori Mackrel were arrested for capital murder, kidnapping and theft of property in the case.

The judge overseeing the case agreed to push back their hearing to September 4 to allow prosecutors more time to review their options.
