Suspected robber arrested after vehicular chase in Little Rock

A man accused in an armed robbery at a Little Rock hotel was arrested after he led police on a vehicular chase Wednesday, police reported.

Officers were called at 2:49 p.m. to Atria Inn & Extended Stay at 6100 S. University Avenue. Kiun Evans, 25, said two men had come to his room, beaten him and a friend and robbed him of his 2007 Honda Accord at gunpoint, according to a police report. Police said Evans identified one of the robbers as Omar Harris.

Officers searched the area and found Harris driving the stolen Accord, according to the report. He was arrested after leading officers on a chase.

Police said Harris, 27, was carrying a small amount of cocaine. He was charged with theft by receiving, fleeing and possession of a controlled substance.

Harris was being held in the Pulaski County jail Thursday.

A detailed description of the second suspected robber was not available.
