Lonoke County authorities are working to identify and arrest two suspects who claimed to be with a law enforcement agency when breaking into a Ward home.

A 70-year-old woman called 911 on late Tuesday night saying two men had broken into her house on Hwy. 321 North in Ward.

According to authorities, the caller said the men identified themselves as Lonoke County law enforcement and were asking if the people inside the residence had any guns.

When the caller's husband asked to see their badges, one of the suspects grabbed a purse out of the room, and both suspects fled.

Deputies responded with a K9 unit and followed tracks to a nearby church, where authorities also located tire tracks. The suspects, however, were not found.

The victims described the suspects as white males wearing masks and said one of them might have a speech impediment.

According to Sheriff John Staley, police obtained photos of the suspects after they used the victims' credit card.

"These photos are poor quality, but someone knows who this is based on the build and clothing," the sheriff said.
