Threat made to Greenbrier Public Schools

A student reported seeing what appeared to be a threat on social media directed toward the Greenbrier School District, according to Greenbrier Public Schools Superintendent Scott Spainhour.

The post, which indicated there was a threat for the afternoon of April 18th, has been removed from social media. The district said it immediately reported the post to law enforcement and the Greenbrier Police Department is investigating.

There will be a strong law enforcement presence at each Greenbrier school on Wednesday, April 18. All buildings will remain locked. Greenbrier Public Schools posted the announcement on their Facebook page and school district website.

"We appreciate the prompt response of the Greenbrier Police Department, and the student for coming forward," the schools' statement said.
