The Garland County Sheriff's Office says a victim's mother and an 18-year-old were arrested after the victim was shot in the face Wednesday morning.

Authorities got a call at 7 a.m. for a person who had been shot in the 400 block of Ryan Rd. in Pearcy.

The victim, identified as a 17-year-old male, was being taken to the hospital in a private vehicle, which deputies met near Marion Anderson and Hwy. 70.

According to the sheriff's office, the teen was transported by LifeNet to the hospital, and authorities say, "at this time it appears as though the injury is non-life threatening."

The sheriff's office took the victim's mother, 37-year-old Lessie Galo, and 18-year-old Keonte Rauls, who were both in the vehicle, into custody for questioning.

They were later arrested with Rauls booked for first-degree battery and Galo booked for two firearms violations and outstanding warrants.
