Victim's family reacts to triple homicide suspect arrest
LITTLE ROCK (KATV) —
Thursday evening, the family of Kenelle Anderson and LaTija Luckey gathered at their memorial after hearing the news that 22-year-old Joshua Williams had been arrested in San Diego, California. He's charged in the murder of Anderson, Luckey, and Carrington Williams on November 16th in Little Rock.
"I just miss my baby. Why did he have to kill her?" questioned LaTara Luckey, the mother of LaTija Luckey.
Williams was announced as a person of interest in late November and was found in California Wednesday evening. According to the San Diego Police Department, officers made contact with Williams for a trolley fare violation. That's when they realized he had outstanding warrants with the Little Rock Police Department.
"We won't properly heal until justice has been served when he's back in Arkansas in the court of law. Then we know that justice is served and he gets what he deserves - we'll feel a whole lot better. We can't bring her back, but it's one step forward to healing," said Charlisha Thomas, a cousin of both Anderson and Luckey. The family says they plan to be at every single court proceeding.
It's unclear whether or not Joshua Williams acted alone, so the Little Rock Police Department is still actively investigating this case. He's currently being held in San Diego without bail, awaiting extradition back to Little Rock.
