UAMS Medical CenterLITTLE ROCK (KATV) — Police are investigating after a woman said a man held her at gunpoint and forced her to drive him through downtown Little Rock early Friday.
The 21-year-old woman told police she'd been sitting in a liquor store at 1022 E. 9th St. with her ex-boyfriend when he told her a friend was coming to sell him drugs about 12:10 a.m., according to a police report. A man wearing a black hoodie and black pants soon got into the backseat of her 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee and pulled out a gun. The man reportedly told her to drive to her sister's house and to take "the back roads."
The woman drove to the Marriott Hotel at 3 Statehouse Plaza in the city's River Market District, then got out of the vehicle and began screaming for help, according to the report. The armed man then drove away in her vehicle. He reportedly ran over the woman's foot as he fled. The vehicle was later located by Pulaski County deputies.
Police said the woman was taken to UAMS Medical Center for treatment.
Investigators learned later that morning from the Pulaski County sheriff's office that the armed robber and the woman's ex were suspected of breaking into a home on British Colonial Drive off Arkansas 367. The two reportedly robbed a woman at the home.
A 31-year-old Little Rock man was identified as one the suspected robbers.
No arrests had been reported Friday afternoon.
