EL PASO, Texas (KFOX14/CBS4)— An Afghan refugee being housed at Fort Bliss, Texas received backlash online after he shared a photo of the meal that he was given.

Hamed Ahmadi posted the photo on Twitter Sept. 2 and his tweet has since gone viral.

Not complaining but this is what I got last night for dinner and the next meal is 12 hours later. Refugee life might be safe but never easy & favorable," Ahmadi tweeted.

Many people on Twitter took offense to the tweet and called Ahmadi "ungrateful" and told him to go back to his country.

On Monday, Ahmadi shared multiple updates on Twitter about the resettlement process and food at Fort Bliss.

Ahmadi said that he spoke to refugees about the food and shared their thoughts with those in charge.

He also added that refugees are starting to see improvement with the food and with communication with volunteers and officials.

Fort Bliss’ Doña Ana Complex shared the below photo showing breakfast that was given to refugees.
