FDA issues recall on two thyroid medications
COLUMBUS, Ohio —
The Food and Drug Administration has announced a voluntary recall for two thyroid medications because there could be problems with an ingredient.
Westminster Pharmaceuticals has recalled some Levothyroxine and Liothyronine tablets as a precaution, according to an FDA statement.
The medications were recalled because "they were manufactured using active pharmaceutical ingredients that were sourced prior to the FDA's import alert," according to the FDA.
Anyone taking a recalled medication should continue taking it until they can get a replacement.
Full details on what products are being recalled can be found on the FDA website here.
