Police: Man doesn't like food at Tennessee restaurant, holds knife to wife's throat
JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (WCYB) — A complaint over a steak turned into a domestic assault at a Johnson City, Tennessee eatery on Wednesday afternoon, according to police.
John Hettinga, 58, was having dinner at a Longhorn Steakhouse and had become angry about his food being cooked incorrectly, the report said.
That is when eyewitnesses told police that Hettinga grabbed a steak knife and held it to the woman's throat when his wife tried to calm him down. He then demanded keys to the couple's vehicle and left the area.
Officers then located Hettinga at his home, taking him into custody and charging him with one count of aggravated domestic assault.
