MINNEAPOLIS (TND) — Target is now selling pro-trans merchandise for children, as well as “chest binders” and “packing underwear” supposedly for adults.
“Chest binders” are used to flatten the breasts so one can appear more masculine, while “packing underwear” includes padding to create the appearance of a bulge between one’s legs.
Sizes for the “chest binders” and “packing underwear” range from XS to 4XL, according to Target's website.
“VERY stoked to see target selling these! Great for anyone trying binding for the first time because it’s more compressing than a sports bra but less than a traditional binder,” read a product review promoted by Target on its website.
“I've never used a binder before but this one is pretty comfortable,” read another review.
The items are part of Target’s new PRIDE line, which is in collaboration with TomboyX, an apparel company geared towards trans people.
On Target’s website, clothing from the PRIDE line is labeled as adult wear, but the items include images of models who look much more like teenagers.
Target also sells baby onesies and bibs reading “my first pride,” and pink tie-dye shirts for toddlers that read “trans rights are human rights.”
The PRIDE line includes a bunch of other apparel and non-apparel items with LGBT symbols and phrases on them.
Products similar to the “chest binders” and “packing underwear” Target is now selling can also be found on Amazon, according to The New York Post.
