Halloween is right around the corner and almost as important as having the best costume is having the best candy on the block.

CandyStore.com has made it a lot easier to please the neighborhood kids (and possibly avoid eggs and toilet paper on your roof) with an interactive map of each state's top three favorite Halloween candies.

The online sweets retailer, CandyStore.com, crushed 11 years of data to come up with the ultimate top ten list of America's Halloween favorites. Some might come as a surprise!

  1. Skittles
  2. M&M's
  3. Snickers
  4. Reese's Cups
  5. Starburst
  6. Candy Corn
  7. Hot Tamales
  8. Hershey's
  9. Tootsie Pops
  10. Jolly Ranchers

Did your favorite make the list?

There's also a ranking of the sweets that are most disappointing for trick-or-treaters on this list of the ten worst Halloween candies.

  1. Circus Peanuts
  2. Candy Corn
  3. Wax Coke Bottles
  4. Necco Wafers
  5. Peanut Butter Kisses
  6. Tootsie Rolls
  7. Smarties
  8. Licorice
  9. Good & Plenty
  10. Mary Janes

This year, Americans are expected to spend about $2.6 billion on Halloween candy this year, or an average of $27.

Though some can't wait to devour their trick-or-treating spoils, more than 50 percent of parents stash away Halloween candy for later in the year.

That's probably a wise idea. Halloween candy sales are expected to mount to thousands of tons! Candy corn-loving states along are expected to load up on more than 2.2 million pounds of it, almost 1,130 tons.
