One-handed baseball player inspires others facing same obstacles
In a "Beyond the Game" story that aired May 13, a one-handed baseball player defied the odds. His name is Jacob Tinsley, and you can watch his inspiring story here. Wonderview Head Coach Philip Golden said that since the story aired, three sets of parents whose children have one arm contacted Jacob. One lost his arm in a lawnmower accident, just as Jacob did. They have asked for the two to meet this summer, so Jacob can work with him.
Autistic student manager celebrates state title with team
When the Sylvan Hills baseball team won the 5A Championship in dramatic fashion, Jonah Bernard was in the dugout to cheer them on. Bernard, whose May 6 "Beyond the Game" story you can see here, was diagnosed with a form of autism when he was 12. He shares a bond with the Bears, though this was the first away game he attended all year.
