Isaiah Joe, Christyn Williams named 2018 Full Court Award Players of the Year

Christyn Williams, Isaiah Joe named Full Court Award players of the year (KATV)

Fort Smith Northside's Isaiah Joe and Central Arkansas Christian's Christyn Williams were named the 2018 Full Court Award Players of the Year.

The awards, presented annually by KATV, are sponsored by Arkansas Specialty Orthopedics and Ortho Arkansas.

Joe, who is committed to play at Arkansas next season, averaged nearly 24 points and over five rebounds and five assists per game.

Williams wins the award for the third straight year. A future UConn Huskie, she was also named Gatorade National Player of the Year. The 5-foot-11 guard led the Mustangs to a 36-1 record and the Class 4A state championship this past season. She averaged 26.8 points, 10.4 rebounds, 2.9 assists and 1.8 steals per game. A member of the USA Basketball Women’s U19 National Team, she was ranked as the nation’s No. 1 recruit in the Class of 2018 by espnW. Also the Women’s Basketball Coaches Association High School Player of the Year and the Naismith Trophy High School Player of the Year, she played in the McDonald’s All-American Game.

The players, many of whom were joined by their family and coaches, were presented with the awards at a banquet in downtown Little Rock Wednesday night.

Previous winners of the prestigious award include Daniel Gafford, Bobby Portis, Archie Goodwin, Kevaughn Allen and Tyler Scaife.

North Little Rock's Ray Fresh and Parkview's Kania Lasker won the Anthony Hobbs Spirit Award.
