Lisa Hutson

Lisa Hutson returned to her Arkansas roots in July 2023 as weekend evening anchor and 7 On Your Side reporter for KATV.

Raised in Searcy, Lisa’s love of journalism began in her high school broadcasting class reporting on social issues for her classmates. She graduated from Searcy High School in 2006 and worked at the local community television station TV3 as a teenager before pursuing a Marriage and Family Therapy degree at Southwestern Assemblies of God University in Waxahachie, Texas.

She began her career in the Little Rock market and traveled to Cincinnati, Waco, Louisville, and most recently Ft. Myers, Florida serving as a multi-media journalist and anchor.

Her passion for veterans and military issues resulted in a 2018 Ohio Valley Emmy Award for Best News Special “Call to Duty: Hurricane Florence” featuring Kentucky national guardsmen and women serving in North Carolina after Hurricane Florence.

When she’s not working, Lisa enjoys spending time with her two dogs Abita and Shiner.
